Payson Boulevard is a secure private wing separate from the rest of the home, designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for persons with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia. Our knowledgeable staff , specially trained in caring for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, are comfortable with the residents, which creates a relaxing atmosphere conducive to decreasing agitation and other behavioral issues.

Our top priority is ensuring that each resident has excellent quality of life, and remains independent and functional for as long as possible. Prior to working on Payson Boulevard, all staff (including those in housekeeping, activities, maintenance, and dietary) are specially trained in how to relate to those with memory impairment. This training includes how to redirect and channel a resident's energy in a positive direction, helping him or her to enjoy a sense of accomplishment and a greater sense of personal value and meaning.

We like to see our residents happy and enjoying themselves in a variety of ways, and the design of Payson Boulevard illustrates this. There are common areas, including a large living room with comfortable easy chairs and sofas, television and stereo; an activity area with tables and chairs where residents can play cards or participate in arts and crafts; and a dining room with a resident accessible kitchen (with assistance), where they enjoy baking and cooking (and eating!). Our secured courtyard allows residents the freedom of being outside, without the danger of becoming lost or disoriented.

A full time activities program, specialized for those with memory impairment, runs seven days a week, and into the evening. Our activities program focuses on enabling the resident to feel successful by setting reachable goals and allowing them to lend a helping hand, if they'd like. We want our residents to have the most fulfilling experience possible, and offer a wide array of programs for the mind, body and soul, including exercises, Bible studies, reminiscing and singalongs.

At Fallbrook Woods, we acknowledge and validate the feelings of isolation, loneliness, and frustration caused by the special needs that go with memory loss. These are experienced by both the person suffering from the disease and his or her caregiver. Here at Fallbrook Woods, we want you to know you are never alone. Our caring staff is here to listen and provide support whenever needed. We encourage family and loved ones' input into planning individualized care for residents, as well as visits, volunteering, and helping with activities as often as desired.

We don't use an "a la carte" billing system; each resident pays a flat daily rate which includes meals, laundry, housekeeping and care. Services given as part of the daily rate include:

  • Assistance with medications
  • Three meals and three snacks a day, including special diets
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Arranging transportation for medical appointments
  • Comprehensive care plan, which includes input from family members and physicians
  • Fully furnished room (personal furnishings are also acceptable)
